New Years Resolution Beyond Fitness

January of every year is the traditional time of year when we all come up with these amazing resolutions that we aren’t always able to accomplish, or are so extravagant that it’s unrealistic.  There is more to a New Years resolution than simply loosing weight.  Lots of goals that lead to loosing weight can be amazing resolutions that you can actually keep and will absolutely help you accomplish fitness goals.Small resolutions can result in huge changes.

A huge part of being successful in whatever you want is to be at peace internally.  In other words, being okay with yourself. Not only your outward appearance but yourself internally.    Positive self thought is HUGE.  Our minds have huge influence on our life and the directions we take.  Allow yourself to be positive and more open to change.   If your on your way to a goal and something doesn’t go exactly as planned, allow yourself some leeway in how you get to that destination.  Don’t allow yourself to feel defeated because you hit a bump in the road.  Learn to breathe and step back and figure out your next step.  One road block doesn’t need to define your destiny.

Another great goal you can set for yourself that will ultimately get you closer to changing your lifestyle and positively affect your body and mind is to simply drink more water.  Benefits of drinking enough water include:

  • Helps you lose weight.
  • Water suppresses your appetite
  • Prevents fluid retention
  • Makes your muscles stronger.

Another great goal is to stop drinking soda.  There are so many empty calories in soda.  I’d personally rather eat my calories than drink them.  Studies have shown that its consumption is linked with tooth decay and diabetes, and it also seems to be bad for your bones.  Slowly weaning yourself off soda will have huge benefits to your overall health and wellness.

Another great simple goal is to consume more vegetables.  Vegetables have many benefits.

  • They are full of fiber and help fill you up.  Getting creative with recipes to add more vegetables helps huge.
  • Vegetables are low in fat and calories
  • High in potassium
  • High in folic acid
  • Full of vitamins

Another great goal is to simple get more sleep.  Sleep and recovery time are so important to your body.  Sleep helps your body recharge, lowering stress, gives you more energy and helps you feel less hungry.  thHZ42NE0DThese are just some examples of Resolutions that seem simple but are realistic and will  have a huge affect on fitness goals.  All these things will have positive affects on your body!
